What Are Cookies

Cookies are small text files that are placed on your computer, smartphone, or other device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work more efficiently, to provide a better user experience, and to supply information to the owners of the website. Cookies allow websites to remember your preferences, keep you logged in across sessions, and understand how you interact with the site.

In addition to traditional HTTP cookies, AlgoVesta also uses similar technologies including:

  • Local Storage: A web storage mechanism that allows websites to store key-value pairs persistently in your browser. Unlike cookies, local storage data is not sent to the server with every HTTP request and has a larger storage capacity.
  • Session Storage: Similar to local storage, but data is cleared when the browser tab is closed. We use session storage for temporary data that should not persist beyond your current browsing session.
  • Web Beacons: Small, transparent images embedded in web pages or emails that allow us to track page views and email open rates for analytics purposes.

Throughout this Cookie Policy, when we refer to "cookies," we include all of these similar technologies unless otherwise specified. This policy should be read alongside our Privacy Policy, which provides more comprehensive information about how we handle your personal data.

Cookies We Use

We use different categories of cookies on the AlgoVesta Platform, each serving a specific purpose. Below is a detailed breakdown of each category.

Essential Cookies (Required -- Cannot Be Disabled)

Essential cookies are strictly necessary for the AlgoVesta Platform to function. Without these cookies, core features such as user authentication, session management, and security protections would not work. These cookies do not collect personal information for marketing purposes and cannot be disabled.

  • Session Management: Authentication tokens that verify your identity and keep you securely logged in as you navigate between pages on the Platform.
  • Security Tokens: Cross-Site Request Forgery (CSRF) protection tokens that prevent unauthorized actions from being executed from your account by malicious third-party websites.
  • Load Balancing: Server routing cookies that ensure your requests are consistently directed to the same backend server throughout your session, providing a stable and performant experience.

Functional Cookies

Functional cookies enable enhanced functionality and personalization on the AlgoVesta Platform. They remember your choices and preferences so that you do not have to reconfigure them each time you visit. Disabling these cookies may result in reduced functionality or a less personalized experience.

  • Language Preference: Stores your selected language (i18n setting) so the Platform displays content in your preferred language across all pages and sessions.
  • Theme Preference: Remembers whether you prefer dark mode or light mode, applying your choice automatically each time you access the Platform.
  • Dashboard Layout: Stores your preferred dashboard widget arrangement, column visibility settings, and chart configurations.
  • Trading Interface Settings: Remembers your preferred trading view settings, including chart timeframes, indicator selections, and order form defaults.

You may disable functional cookies through your browser settings, but some features may not work correctly or may require you to manually set your preferences each visit.

Analytics Cookies (Optional -- Can Be Disabled)

Analytics cookies help us understand how visitors interact with the AlgoVesta Platform by collecting anonymous usage statistics. This information is aggregated and used solely to improve our services. No personally identifiable information is collected through analytics cookies.

  • Anonymous Usage Statistics: Page views, navigation paths, and time spent on different sections of the Platform, collected in aggregate form.
  • Feature Adoption Tracking: Anonymized data about which features are used most frequently, helping us prioritize development efforts.
  • Performance Monitoring: Page load times, API response times, and client-side error rates to identify and resolve performance issues.
  • Error Reporting: Anonymized error logs that help our engineering team identify, diagnose, and fix bugs and technical issues.

You can opt out of analytics cookies through your browser settings or by enabling Do Not Track. See Section 5 for details.

Third-Party Cookies

Certain third-party services that we integrate with may set their own cookies on your device. These cookies are governed by the respective privacy policies of those third parties, and AlgoVesta does not have direct control over them.

  • Firebase Authentication (Google): Firebase sets cookies and uses local storage to manage authentication sessions. These are essential for the login and account verification process. Governed by the Google Privacy Policy.
  • Cloudflare: Cloudflare may set cookies for bot detection, security challenge verification, and performance optimization. Governed by the Cloudflare Privacy Policy.

How to Manage Cookies

You have the right to control and manage cookies on your device. Most web browsers allow you to view, delete, and block cookies through their settings. Below are instructions for the most commonly used browsers:

Google Chrome

Navigate to Settings > Privacy and Security > Cookies and other site data. From here, you can view all cookies, block third-party cookies, clear cookies on exit, and manage site-specific cookie permissions. For more details, visit the Chrome Help Center.

Mozilla Firefox

Navigate to Settings > Privacy & Security > Cookies and Site Data. Firefox offers Enhanced Tracking Protection with Standard, Strict, and Custom modes for granular control over cookies and trackers. For more details, visit the Firefox Support.

Apple Safari

Navigate to Preferences > Privacy. Safari blocks cross-site tracking cookies by default through Intelligent Tracking Prevention. You can also manage website data and block all cookies from this menu. For more details, visit the Safari User Guide.

Microsoft Edge

Navigate to Settings > Cookies and site permissions > Manage and delete cookies and site data. Edge offers Basic, Balanced, and Strict tracking prevention levels. For more details, visit the Microsoft Edge Support.

Important: Disabling essential cookies will prevent the AlgoVesta Platform from functioning correctly. You may be unable to log in, maintain an authenticated session, or use core trading features if essential cookies are blocked.

To clear localStorage and sessionStorage data (used by some of our functional and essential items), you can use your browser's Developer Tools. In most browsers, press F12, navigate to the Application or Storage tab, and manually clear the relevant storage entries for the algovesta.com domain.

05

Do Not Track

AlgoVesta acknowledges and respects Do Not Track (DNT) signals sent by your web browser. The DNT header is an HTTP header field that indicates your preference regarding tracking by websites and online services.

When we detect that your browser has Do Not Track enabled, we take the following actions:

  • Analytics cookies (such as _ga and _gid) will not be set and analytics tracking will be disabled for your session.
  • No anonymized usage statistics will be collected from your interactions with the Platform.
  • Feature adoption tracking and performance monitoring data will not be gathered.

Please note that essential cookies (required for authentication, security, and core functionality) and functional cookies (language and theme preferences) remain active regardless of your DNT setting, as they are necessary for the proper operation and usability of the Platform.

You can enable DNT in most browsers through the privacy or security settings. Consult your browser's documentation for specific instructions on how to activate this feature.

For material changes that significantly alter the types of cookies we use or how we track user interactions, we will provide prominent notice through a notification on the AlgoVesta Platform dashboard or, where appropriate, via email to registered users.

We encourage you to review this Cookie Policy periodically to stay informed about how we use cookies and related technologies. Your continued use of the AlgoVesta Platform after any changes to this policy constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms.
