Telegram to Gate.io: copy signal channels to your Gate.io account

AlgoVesta listens to the Telegram channels you pick, turns their signals into orders and places them on Gate.io with a trade-only API key. Futures trades are sized in whole contracts close to your chosen amount and protected by stop-loss and take-profit triggers; spot trades get both levels as separate triggers.

How it works

1
Connect Telegram

Use your phone number and the code Telegram sends to your app.

2
Choose channels

Tick the signal channels this bot should copy; everything else is ignored.

3
Connect Gate.io

Create a key with Spot Trade and Futures Trade permissions and paste key and secret.

4
Paper first

Gate.io has no test environment here, so let the bot run on a virtual balance before going live.

Contract sizes and small accounts

Channel signals rarely say how much to trade, so the size comes from your bot: a fixed amount or a share of your balance, with the leverage you allow. Gate.io futures only accept whole contracts. For a small amount on a symbol with a large contract, the nearest whole contract may be far from what you set. AlgoVesta opens it only when it is within 20% of your amount; otherwise the signal is skipped and the bot card shows which amounts would have worked.

This matters most when you copy channels that trade many different coins, because contract sizes differ from symbol to symbol.

Both levels on spot

Gate.io spot accepts a stop-loss and a take-profit as two independent trigger orders, so copied spot signals are protected on both sides.

Risk limits that apply to every channel

A daily-loss limit stops the bot from opening new trades for the rest of the UTC day once it is reached. A maximum number of open positions and a maximum number of trades per day keep a busy channel from filling your account.

Futures or spot for a Gate.io channel

Gate.io spot can only buy coins that you then hold, so it suits channels that post long-only spot calls. Channels that also post shorts need Gate.io futures, where both directions are possible and the stop-loss and targets are reduce-only.

A bot is set to one market when you create it. If a channel posts both kinds of calls, create one bot per market and give each its own size and limits; the channel selection decides which bot receives which posts.

Approve signals yourself, or let them run

Every bot can run in manual approval mode: each parsed signal waits as a card in the dashboard until you confirm or reject it. Once you trust how a channel is read, switch approval off and let the bot trade on its own rules.

To see how a specific channel post will be read before you connect anything, paste it into the free Telegram signal parser on this site. A stopped bot ignores incoming messages completely: nothing is opened and no approval cards appear.

Connect your Gate.io API key

Create the key in Gate.io with these permissions: Spot Trade + Futures Trade. Withdrawal and transfer stay disabled, because AlgoVesta never needs them: it can place and close orders, but it cannot move funds out of your account. Gate.io keys have a key and a secret only, with no passphrase.

If you restrict the key to IP addresses, the AlgoVesta connection wizard shows the two server addresses to add. The full click-by-click guide, with what each Gate.io screen looks like, is in the help center.

Rules that apply to every order

  • A stop-loss on every order: from the signal, or from your own percentage or distance. No stop-loss source, no order.
  • A daily-loss limit that pauses new entries until the next UTC day.
  • Maximum open positions and maximum trades per day per bot.
  • A panic button that closes what AlgoVesta opened and leaves your own positions alone.

On crypto exchanges an order opens in about 4.1 seconds on average, from the signal arriving to a filled order with its protection attached, measured across AlgoVesta's own executions.

FAQ

Gate.io questions

The most common questions before you decide — if you still have doubts, start here.

The nearest whole contract was more than 20% away from your amount. Increase the amount or use a symbol with smaller contracts.
Yes, within your plan's channel limit. Each bot has its own size, leverage and limits.
Not in AlgoVesta. Paper mode runs the same signals on a $5,000 virtual balance instead.
You decide: use the leverage from the signal, or a fixed leverage of your own that ignores the signal.
Yes. Both the stop-loss and the take-profit are placed as trigger orders after the buy.
No. Spot can only buy coins that you then hold, so short calls need a Gate.io futures bot, where both directions are possible and the targets are reduce-only.
